1966

What’s your favorite year of music? Mine is 1966. The Beatles made Revolver at that time. Revolver is my second favorite album of the Beatles (my first is Help – 1965, also a good year, maybe even as good!). The Beach Boys did Pet Sounds, which has “Sloop John B” and “Wouldn’t It Be Nice” and “God Only Knows” and lots of other good songs. The Rolling Stones made Aftermath, which has “Paint It Black” and “Under My Thumb” on it. Bob Dylan made Blonde on Blonde. Here are other some other songs from 1966:

“When a Man Loves a Woman” by Percy Sledge
“You Can’t Hurry Love” by the Supremes

“Summer in the City” by The Lovin’ Spoonful
“My Generation” by The Who

“The Sound of Silence” and “Homeward Bound” by Simon and Garfunkel

“Cherry, Cherry” by Neil Diamond
“In the Midnight Hour” by Wilson Pickett

“Hold On, I’m Comin'” by Sam and Dave
“It’s a Man’s Man’s Man’s World” by James Brown

“Try a Little Tenderness” by Otis Redding

“For What It’s Worth” by Buffalo Springfield
